Projected 2022 Depth Chart Ohio State Buckeyes football

(I don't predict anyone coming back for their free (COVID) 5th/6th year, except MAYBE Jerron Cage)

Offense Graduates = WR Chris Olave (690), TE Jeremy Ruckert (646), OT Thayer Munford (643), TE Mitch Rossi (125)

Defense Graduates = DE Tyreke Smith (375), DT Haskell Garrett (392), DT Antwuan Jackson (310), DT Jerron Cage (182), LB Teradja Mitchell (341), CB/S Marcus Williamson (317)

Most likely gone early = WR Garrett Wilson (594), OT Nicholas Petit-Frere (768), RB Master Teague (139), CB Sevyn Banks (312)

I think they stay = C Harry Miller (injured), DE JJB (to start), DT Taron Vincent (to start), CB Cam Brown (quoted), S Josh Proctor (injured)

Players who Transferred out who may have played in '22 = WR Jaelen Gill (2018 4 star), OT Ryan Jacoby (2019 4 star), S Tyreke Johnson (2018 5 star), CB Ryan Watts (2020 4 star) (122 snaps+ST), BULL Craig Young (2019 3 star) (132 snaps+ST)

Biggest holes = receiving TE (who we barely use), one outside WR, one or both OT, two DT = not too scary. Bigger issue is units improving (DL+LB)

Notes:

If Ryan Jacoby had stayed, he'd compete for starting RT

If Ryan Watts or Craig Young had stayed, he'd compete for #3 CB, and #2 in 2023

We're not losing many on offense, but 5 starters were HUGE contributors, (>594 snaps)=(WR, WR, TE, OT, OT)

We’re losing numbers on defense, but none of them were huge contributors (<392 snaps)=(DE, DT, DT, LB, CB, CB/S)

Bummer to think that our amazing 2021 recruiting cycle (7 5-Stars) is preceeded by 3 and followed by 2

Only concerns:

We didn't have many weak spots on Offense, but if there was one, it was the O-Line, and we're losing 2 and possibly 3 starters

DL and LB need to take big leaps this year, good news is, we're not losing any studs at DL and not losing anyone at LB

Still don't understand why Ryan Watts (122 snaps) and Craig Young (132 snaps) both left (both were backing up, starting ST, and could be key backups in '22 and starters in '23)

Questions:

Who becomes the #2 WR = Fleming/Harrison/Egbuka?

Is Cade Stover, a converted LB, ready to be a starting TE?

Is Enokk Vimahi ready to be a starting RT? Or does Matt Jones slide over?

Who is our starting center, Harry Miller or Luke Wypler? Can either one slide to RG?

Are JTT and Sawyer ready to dominate? Or do we struggle to create a 4 man front pass rush again?

Do the LB's improve? Or could CJ Hicks carve out a role this year?

Is this the deepest secondary we've had in 10+ years? (6 players with 'starter' experience for 4 positions)
