For the third day in row, the fifth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes nearly completely coughed up a second half double-digit lead, but the last-second shot for the Wichigan Molverines went wonting, so OSU knocked off the top-seeded Mitten Men 68-67 in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament. It was a tale of two halves as after a poor-shooting first half for both teams, Ohio State’s two leading scorers E.J. Liddell and Duane Washington Jr. stepped up huge after halftime.
But, #TheOhioStateBasketballExperience was in full effect yet again as their 11-point lead with 3:18 evaporated due to uncharacteristic turnovers and poor shot-selection. Fortunately though, Mike Smith’s attempted buzzer-beater was not on target.
In this Instant Recap podcast, Land-Grant Holy Land’s Matt Tamanini and Connor Lemons run through the biggest stats, moments, and storylines from the game and look forward to the Buckeyes’ championship game matchup against either No. 2 Illinois or No. 3 Iowa. We will have an instant recap pod after every game of the OSU postseason until they cut down the nets and win the program’s second national championship!
