Congratulations, you made it through Monday. Just in case you had a busy start to the week, Land-Grant Holy Land has you covered in all things Ohio State recruiting.
Defensive tackle has Ohio State in top 12
This just in: Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class is off to an incredible start. The Buckeyes have already accumulated what is currently viewed as one of the top classes in the nation, consisting of a handful of five-star recruits and plenty of near five-stars. The scariest part is with just 11 verbal commitments, the coaching staff is roughly only halfway finished.
Monday brought in more good news, as one of the Buckeyes’ top remaining priorities provided an update on his recruitment, and Ohio State is still in play. Four-star defensive tackle Caden Curry released his top 12 schools and, as was expected, Ohio State was included.
Thank you to all the coaches that have taken the time to recruit me through this process, but I am honored to announce my top 12 schools! @CGSportsNetwork @AABonNBC @cg_coach_moore pic.twitter.com/TQtsWhrAYP

Also included in Curry’s top 12 schools were Alabama, Arizona State, Clemson, Florida, Indiana, Notre Dame, Oregon, Florida State, Michigan, USC and Tennessee.
Curry has long been linked to Ohio State, and is reportedly one of the team’s top priority recruits remaining in the 2022 cycle. Given the close proximity to Ohio State, Curry and the Buckeyes were able to start building a relationship early in his recruitment. The Buckeyes officially offered the Greenwood, Indiana native in May of 2020.
The blue-chip prospect spoke with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports after he released his top schools lists, and spoke highly of his relationship with Ohio State.
“Honestly I’ve had (the list) for awhile and been thinking about it for awhile and I’ve been talking to these schools the most and see myself playing at one of these schools... I’m trying to get to Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and others that I can to as soon as possible...I’d say I’ve talked the most to Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson and IU I talk to them once a week.”
While the Buckeyes 2022 class is impressive, the team has yet to secure a commitment on the defensive line. What makes Curry even more intriguing to the Buckeyes is his versatility. Curry will likely play DT at the next level, but he has the ability to move along the line as well with recent comparisons to the Bosa brothers.
Curry will likely narrow this list down further as he is able to start taking visits to the above schools. Fortunately, the recruiting dead period due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be soon coming to an end, so Curry will be able to start scheduling visits soon. Expect him to use one of his five allocated official visits to travel to Columbus as well.
Curry is currently a four-star prospect but could easily be a five-star when the class rankings are finalized. He is the the No. 8 DT and the No. 84 overall prospect in his class at this point.
