It’s been a busy weekend for the Ohio State football program. Just about 24 hours after we saw the Buckeyes lead all schools (tied with that team from Tuscaloosa) with 10 total selections in the NFL Draft, rapidly rising athlete Kye Stokes committed to play his collegiate football in Columbus just five days after receiving an offer from running backs coach Tony Alford.

Though currently listed as an athlete, Stokes appears to be slotted in to play safety for the Buckeyes, as you might have been able to figure out based on him including Matt Barnes and Kerry Coombs in his social media posts confirming his commitment.

While Stokes has not been a name at the top of many conversations around the 2022 recruiting class for OSU, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete from Seffner, Fl. has quickly been turning heads from colleges across the country. Stokes has recently picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, Indiana, Tennessee, Northwestern, and others. Though he is currently not ranked according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings, there is little doubt that he will be highly regarded by the time their next updates roll around.

Stokes joins cornerbacks Jaheim Singletary and Jyaire Brown as the third defensive back recruit in Ohio State’s 2022 class.
