Welcome back! In exciting news for the podcast, Kelsey and Meredith are thrilled to welcome Megan Husslein back as a forever-host on Play Like a Girl!

After being delayed for a very long year, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics are here at long last. That’s why, on this week’s edition of the pod, Meredith and Megan talked all things Olympics. ICYMI, the Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for this Friday, and Team USA just announced that hoops great Sue Bird and baseball player/speed skater (you read that right) Eddy Alvarez will be flag bearers. Great choices all-around (get it? Because of gymnastics?)

The pair also discussed the USWNT’s surprising loss to Sweden in their first Olympic game, snapping a 44-game unbeaten streak. On a more positive note, they got into Team USA softball, and the team of newcomers and veterans who are coming together to bring home a gold after the sport was absent for two-straight Olympic Games.

But because it’s this podcast, Megan and Meredith also talked Buckeyes in the Olympics — including Adelaide Aquilla, the walk-on-turned-Olympian shot putter, and all-time wrestling great Kyle Snyder.
