After taking one on the chin from the Ducks of Oregon, Ryan Day and the Buckeyes bounced back with a victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes last Saturday. While Ohio State didn’t pick up any verbal commitments or anything along those lines, the Buckeyes did play host to a decent group of under-the-radar and underclassmen prospects on Saturday afternoon.

Just days after having a shot to see the Buckeyes up, close, and personal, Land-Grant Holy Land caught up with a few of the recruits that were on campus last Saturday to see what they thought about their game day experience at The Horseshoe.

OT Mason Ludwig

Class: 2023
Town: East Liverpool, OH/East Liverpool
Size: 6’5/275
Offers: Iowa State, Kentucky, Akron, Kent State, Toledo, etc

Thoughts: “The trip went well. Watching the like warm up and how they interact and work together was a highlight. Getting to meet coach Cook and Terwilliger was great. It was established that I should keep working hard and focus on flexibility. It was a much larger venue than the other games so that was very cool.”

Town: Bradenton, FL/IMG Academy
Size: 6’5/232
Offers: Akron, SMU

Thoughts: “I had a lot of fun at the Ohio State game this weekend. I really loved the fans and the stadium. I got to talk with coach Wilson for a little. I enjoyed the experience and could picture myself here.”

TE Tayvion Galloway

Class: 2024
Town: Chillicothe, OH/Unioto
Size: 6’6/215
Offers: Bowling Green, Buffalo

Thoughts: “It went very well. Just very blessed and fortunate and I can’t thank our God enough. Something that stood out most was doing Carmen Ohio after the game. I talked to a few coaches on the staff such as coach Hinton , Terwilliger, and Wilson. They all just said how they liked my frame and athleticism, and want me to come back in December or January.”

Edge Razah Townsend

Class: 2023
Town: Grand Rapids, MI/East Kentwood
Size: 6’3/230
Offers: Central Michigan, Western Michigan

Thoughts: “The trip was amazing. As soon as I got there me and the guys that I came with visited the basketball center and walked around the entire basketball arena and got to look at that. That was a great experience because I’ve never visited a college and got to see what the basketball was looking like there.

“I really didn’t get to talk to any coaches of the Ohio State staff because you know it’s game day and they’re all so focused and busy making sure that their players are ready to go out there and secure a victory in front of thousands of fans. One coach that I did get to speak to was Larry Johnson he really didn’t say too much because his guys were on their way out but I got to take a picture with him that’s good news. Hopefully Ohio State keeps in contact with me going forward in my recruiting process and hopefully one day I’ll be a Buckeye.”
