The Ohio State football team has had a very busy spring. The staff was busy hosting recruits for camps and working with this current roster of Buckeyes ahead of the upcoming season, which holds lofty expectations.

This hard work paid dividends for the Buckeyes, as they earned multiple verbal commitments and placed themselves in a great position for several other elite prospects that have yet to decide. The Buckeyes 2025 recruiting class now sits at No. 2 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, trailing only Notre Dame — who has 10 more commitments in its class.

There was not a lot of recruiting news featuring the Buckeyes on Memorial Day. Hopefully the staff had a relaxing holiday weekend, because things are only going to get busier for them in the coming months. As the seasons switch from spring to summer, the Ohio State coaches only have to work harder. Ohio State is preparing to host multiple recruits on official visits this weekend, alike many of the nation’s top football programs.

But before official visits begin, the Buckeyes learned recently that they moved one step closer in securing one their top defensive line prospects in the 2025 class when four-star edge Mariyon Dye (Elkhart, IN / Elkhart) announced his top eight schools.

Alongside Ohio State, Dye also included Tennessee, Georgia, Penn State, Florida State, Michigan, Purdue, and LSU in his top schools. Of these schools, Dye currently has official visits scheduled with Ohio State, Purdue, Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee. His official visit with the Buckeyes is scheduled for June 14.

Dye is the No. 16 edge in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and he is the No. 173 overall recruit. He is also the No. 3 recruit from Indiana.

Ohio State to have a big official visit weekend

As was previously mentioned, the Buckeyes will be playing host to a handful of elite recruits this weekend on official visits, similar to most of the nation’s top college football programs. The Buckeyes will likely add to this list throughout the week, but below are just a few of the prospects the staff are preparing to play host to in Columbus:
